If the Signalink is connected to the data port on the rear of the radio the volume can be set to minimum. How do I get that level to lower? Rig is set up with just a data cable no cat for now going to a simple Easy-Digi VOX interface basically, just isolation transformers.
Yes little to no ALC is the goal otherwise your signal quality will degrade and your station will splatter. To adjust TX audio level you will need to reduce the speaker level on the sound interface you are using. Which based on your description is the motherboard built in sound card on your PC. Any suggetions? You have proved the radio works, to test the rear data interface I would recommend using amplified pc speakers, headphones, an AC volt meter.
Anything which will confirm you are sending audio out of the sound card. Anyway, where to connect the speakers or headphone, On the laptop or on the ? I sent CQ and in the headphone connected to the pc I heard sound but No power out on the It seems I have problem in te radio.
Is the interface the cable to the radio using this interface? Next in the windows sound control panel verify the level for the playback device you selected in WSJT.
I have a simple soundcard connected to USB from the 6 pin connector on the radio. The level of the speakers is Ok the speaker level for this USB soundcard is set at 50 and if you connect a headset you hear FT8 sounds.
And the cable to the radio has not failed, I would agree indications are a problem with the rear input. Is the radio output working are you receiving and decoding traffic?
Thanks for support. Jay, thank you so much for your help on the D last week. Thanks again for your tech help, it was a Godsend. Thanks loads for the help last week.
Sorry TO take up your time, but not sure I could have done what you did in a month. I appreciate your time and guidance. I have the CAT Cable connected. But did try all other ways. Notice which port goes away and then comes back. While doing this also take note of which audio devices come and go as these are the microphone and speaker you will configure WSJT-X to use.
Jay Sorry to but in on this thread, but I also cannot get mt ft to power out on tx. More info needed, in order to help I need to understand your setup and what checks you have already performed. I have full control to change bands, PTT etc. My settings are the same as in the first slide in this thread.
Also please confirm what radio interface you are using, and what the pin out is between the radio and soundcard. It is rs to USB so there is no pin out. All is working fine now as It seems that my audio levels were amiss. Also may have been a conflict with added USB sound card. I surely appreciate your help, again thank you! My question was focused on the audio settings for the soundcard connected to the radio.
I have FTAT and has the same problem. After I gave it a colleague here he did Firmware update ant it solved the problem. I hope this will help. Thank you checking the release notes from Yaesu for the FTAT there is mention of a change when in data mode. The new setting is up to seconds. The WSIJ program is receiving and decoding. The little circle to the left is mainly orange sometimes red and once even green, even though frequency box stayed red. I forgot about the F to F cable.
It appears slightly different than the cable on your Web site. The lesson here is not all Serial Cables are the same!
Again thanks! Since I last wrote you, I have made hundreds of FT8 contacts all over the world, but something has changed. I still get the Green Light and make contacts, but the power output has been reduced. I can lower the slider and this problem stops. Unfortunately, on the 20 Meter band, that means power output of only 20 watts.
I know that I have done more than that in the past Normally, the most I use is watts. The serial cable is plugged into the back of the FT Data Port. Just curious! Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search. I see that there is programming software available with which one can load information into the 's memory from a spreadsheet-like file, which would be much easier than keying the data in via the buttons on the front panel. But does anybody know if there is a program available which essentially emulates a software-defined radio for the that is, something that maps all the control functionality of the onto the screen of the , so it can be operated in real-time through the keyboard and mouse?
I'm not aware of an application that has full control of every feature. However, there are a variety of applications available that work for basic functions. FLRIG will give you many of the most common features. Its rig control is sufficient that I don't generally have to turn back to my radio. BTW, be careful about using the term software-defined radio.
I understand you to mean you want software that lets you control the radio. The term software-defined radio more commonly refers to a radio that performs filtering and shaping functions in software rather than hardware.
The radio control you are asking for is commonly called "rig control" or some-times "rig-cat". Yaesu makes software like what you're looking for: Go the yaesu. The PCC software runs on Windows and connects to the radio over a serial port.
You can drive nearly every feature of the radio. I find it easier to use this software than to go through the radio menus. Just google "Ham Radio Deluxe free" and you will see many sites that allow download version 5.
